values. -Visit us online at: - -POSITION SUMMARY: - The Sr. Echo
Technologist is responsible for the day-to-day operations (patient
flow)and efficiency of the echo department. The technologist must
have knowledge of all areas within the Echo Department to include
Echo Sonographer (Adult and Pediatric) and TEEs. - The Sr.
Technologist must utilize the principles of continuous quality
improvement in collaboration with other health team members. The
Sr. Echo Technologist performs ultrasound examinations according to
the currently accepted practices of the ARDMS and Northwest Texas
Healthcare System. The Sr. Technologist will prepare technical
reports, exam rooms, equipment and supplies for procedures. - -
-Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist Cardiologists and Staff Physicians with tests.
- Demostrates ultrasound echo sonography skills.
- Demonstrates good patient care.
- Utilized the appropriate leadership skill in supervising
students and providing feedback concerning student
performance.
- Demonstrates good communitcation and problem-solving
skills.
- -Be a professioanl role model for other personnel.
- Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients,
visitors and employees.
- The Sr. Echo Technologist will assess risks to patient safety
and implement the appropriate precauthion.
- The Sr. Echo Technologist will comply with appropriate and
approved standards relaing to: patients, infection control, and
environmental issues. -

Qualifications
Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations
Required: -
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain
certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to
providing patient care.
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers completed
within 12 months of hire date and must maintain such.Physical and
Sensory Requirements: -1. Ability to read and write in English2.
Ability to speak and hear, to allow discussions with employees and
peers.3. Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress4.
Ability to show organization and leadership.5. Ability to respond
to pages6. Near-Visual acuity and depth perception to examine
exposed films for detail7. Ability to evaluate and interpret
information and make independent decisions8. Bending and lifting
(50-75 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and
pulling.9. Electrical and radiant energy hazards are present.10.
Exposure to infectious organisms, agent, and toxic chemicals. - -
